Hello folks! Guess what? Dub Apokalipto is going to be one of the opening acts for SEARCH's tour in Ireland and the UK! We'll be joined by one of Dublin's finest: Von Shakes, with whom we performed at the Dublin Emergenza finals earlier this year.
p/s: I really have to start hitting the books from now if I want to rehearse for the events. Will be hitting the rehearsal rooms soon! So start book-hugging! (that's my term for studying nowadays, Haha!)
Okay, this has been going on for too long. I haven't been here in ages and I can see it needs some sort of an improvement; but I don't know where to start.
I guess I didn't have that many of a choice do I?
Maybe the first thing I'll do is update the 'One lick, one day' series. Then I'll update the stories (It's almost done)
This is the first, in many parts of a series of videos of some simple licks you could learn and build up your blues repertoire. It may not take you a whole day, maybe just a few minutes, but that doesn't matter; it's only the title.
Anyway, the licks are going to be played in the A minor pentatonic scale in fifth position.
It's still in the early stages, so I apologise for the poor video and audio quality. I'll try to make up for it in the future. In the meantime, enjoy and hope it helps.
This has B.B. King written all over it. It's something he would have played; only with some variations. the lick is played up to tempo first, then I sort of slowed it down in the second run.
p/s: I appreciate any comments, be it positive or negative. Because that's what helps us all to improve. Thank you.
This is it. My next new project. I figured if my mind is at the moment, blocked when it comes to writing, I'm starting out on this neat little project that I've always wanted to do. Behold, this is the makings of my own effects pedal board.
Note that this is still in its early stage, it does not really look like a fully functional board at the moment.
The idea was to have only about 5 or 6 pedals on it because I don't really use a lot of effects; just the basics like delays, overdrive etc.
The current layout in the pictures were only temporary; as I still need to get some other pedals and re-arrange them in the best possible order in the signal chain. The Crybaby will probably be the last and the Tube Screamer the first etc.
Costs so far (excluding pedals, of course):
1) The base (piece of wood) - Free! 2) Velcro strips - 6.50 Euro
I'm as normal as a person could be..with a few quirks of course.. likes coffee, an avid reader..novels mostly..favourites are by Stephen King and Michael Connelly
